1. What is the number one challenge facing Wisconsin today and why?

It is almost said too much now, but for good reason. The workforce issues that all sectors face are real. Where will the next generation of teachers, manufacturers, retail workers, and snow plow drivers come from? Hoping for better birth rates won’t work. We need bold reforms to get on the national map to draw people to our state. Eliminating the income tax is the place to start.

2. Favorite Wisconsin cheese curds?

Hands down, Union Star Cheese in the metropolis of Zittau. No trip near Fremont is complete without swinging in, and any hunting trip for me starts with grabbing fresh curds and fresh string cheese from Union Star, even if it means going a bit out of the way to get there.

3. What advice would you give to your younger self?

Really embrace a work-life balance. Push hard in your career, but push equally hard for a balanced life. Especially in politics, the work continues year over year, elections come and go, so make sure you always give equal time to a strong home life.
