1. If you were King for a day and could wave a magic wand, what policy change in Wisconsin would you enact?
I’d like to see Wisconsin remove the state income tax. It burdens low/middle income families, prohibiting them from saving money towards home ownership. If we’re going to have investment in our communities, we need people to own their homes. Home ownership brings property tax money to local communities and most importantly–creates an incentive for people to engage politically in their local government. People care about how their money is spent if they know it’s staying in their community.
