1. What is the number one challenge facing Wisconsin today and why?
The draw of cities that are digital technology leaders. Young adults look at cities like Denver, Austin, Miami, Raleigh, and others. They see opportunities that are not in our state today. A digital revolution is happening in our country, and young adults want to be part of this more significant movement. While high-tech manufacturing is critical for our state, we need to have a better all-of-the-above recruitment strategy to bring leaders in digital to Milwaukee and Wisconsin, along with the talent pool that will follow.
2. Favorite Wisconsin beer?
Happy Place by Third Space. It is my summer go-to. It makes me think of Miller Park and Brewers games. If you haven’t had it yet, you should pick some up.
3. What is the last book you read?
I am currently wrapping up Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy. It’s an intriguing read that describes various times over history when US Senators rise above populism to realize a long-term outlook. It’s a book I’ve meant to whip through when I have free time for a while, but that can be lacking while running your own business.
