1. What is the number one challenge facing Wisconsin today and why?
People. We need more Wisconsinites and our biggest public policy issues need to be focused on making Wisconsin a more attractive place for people to move to (and stay). That means getting our drug and crime problems under control, reducing the tax and regulatory burden on individuals and employers, and reforming education so every parent can find the best education for their kids.

2. What is your favorite Wisconsin sports memory?
Easy answer: Being at the Final Four in Indianapolis the night the Badgers beat undefeated Kentucky to make the championship game. Great day leading up to the game, great game, and the party in the hotel lobby afterward might have been the best part of the whole experience.

3. What advice would you give to your younger self?
A lot of life lessons learned over the years — don’t put off going to the doctor, etc. But one thing I always say when I talk to college kids and people just starting off in their careers is it is OK to not know what you want to do in five or 10 years. I think too often there’s this idea that you have to be perfectly polished and have a master plan. That’s just not the case for most people. Be kind, work hard, take care of your friends and be ready to run through whatever doors open up.
