Madison, Wis. — Today, CJ Szafir, President of the Institute for Reforming Government, issued this statement in regards to the Evers’ administration’s revenue estimates:
“Today’s revenue estimates call into question why Governor Evers’ agencies would request billions of dollars in new spending during tough economic times. With the state budget debate a few months away, legislators need to prepare themselves to stand firm against the reckless tax and spending plans coming from the executive branch – Wisconsinites are suffering enough with the economic fallout from COVID-19. The Evers’ Administration should take a lesson from Wisconsin residents and learn to live within its means even during tough times,” said CJ Szafir, president of the Institute for Reforming Government.
Szafir also wrote a column, published in Right Wisconsin on Governor Evers’ agency requests earlier this fall.
